DON'T abuse your Genting World Card

Genting WorldCard, GWC the only card in Malaysia that offers FREE room, meals and cash reimbursement at Genting Highland via GP and WP. GP-collected at gaming tables and slot machines, WP- collected when you spend at any merchandiser in Genting and much more.

GWC members were supposed to produce their GWC when they play in the casino to collect GP. However some members were found abusing their GWC. They produce GWC without betting, leave the table, and let their GWC to "earn" points. This action is commonly known as point-picking. This was commonly found on high-betting table which earned higher GP/hour. (Slot machines had no issue as GP was given based on betting which were electronically recorded.)


Pit supervisors and Area Manager were supposed to be on the lookout to deter such behavior, and from time to time, they will verify the GWC against current players on each table, and clocked-out those who were not at the table. However when the number of visitors became too much, it posed a challenge to verify the players. That is when the point-pickers strike.


(GP is credited based on betting amount of the table, GP earned will be lesser if there were more GWC on table. Point-pickers will share on the GP which they were not entitled, resulting in unfairness to other players as they will be earning less GP.)

A friend of mine, got his GWC confiscated  in his recent point-picking. He placed his GWC at a gaming table and came back few hours later only to found his card missing The supervisor told him they were helping him to find his GWC, and ask for his IC. Later two police appeared and led him to the security room where he was informed of his misconduct and the card had been blocked. The explanation was he placed it few times in the day without betting. He can no longer apply for GWC again. When he tried to defend himself, he was told he could write in to the management. With that you know the hope is vague.

If you committed such act before, rethink again is it worth for few GP, you may ended up embarrassing yourself in the public, and get blacklisted for all privileges in this renowned international gaming resort.
